Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) is supporting IKS through core support since 2015. Sida is a government agency working on behalf of the Swedish parliament and government, with the mission to reduce poverty in the world. Through our work and in cooperation with others, we contribute to implementing Sweden’s Policy for Global Development (PGU).
The agreement between Sida and IKS is based on the implementation of the IKS program which is set forth in the organization’s Strategic Plan, which focuses on Three main areas: Good Governance (Public Policy, Anticorruption) Social Justice (Social Dialogue, Social Policy and Support to Trade Unions) and Cultural Heritage (promotion and preservation).
EU integration, gender equality, and human rights are mainstreamed in IKS programmes and projects through affirmative measures, gender-specific results and indicators and other intentionally introduced activities aimed at mainstreaming cross-cutting priorities of the organization.
Since 2013, IKS is also involved in implementing sectoral support projects with elements of policy influencing and support and capacity building.
