The upcoming theme within the cycle of the social dialogue was that of the pension. The guests for the discussion at the Info Magazine were: Shaqir Foniqi, a former journalist, Shqipe Pantina, deputy of Lëvizja Vetëvendosje and Fatmir Haxholli, advisor to the Minister Arban Abrashi.
For the contributors to the pension, the current law is considered as insulting and provocative. Former journalist Shaqir Foniqi expressed that he is disappointed with our institutions. This law, according to him, is a flagrant violation of human rights.
"I have 40 years of experience in television, five years correspondent editorial in Albanian Television, excluded from work by the former Serbian director. I have 12 years 8 months and a few days, why should my acknowledgments, missions, and books be thrown in the mud" said Foniqi.
In this regard, the adviser to the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Fatmir Haxholli, argued that many of the current pension system's problems are inherited from the previous legislature and highlighted the good work that has been made under his current ministry. During the discussion, he also blamed the opposition as an accomplice to the problems in the legislation for pension schemes.
"We all have a legitimate right to enjoy this right. We have a system that was needed and needs to be improved. Deputy Pantina has to look at her salary which is very high. Some Deputies like Mrs. Pantina, who has a mouth full of rant, does not provide examples, but just talks. Subject to which she belongs too has never come up with concrete plans, but deals with major issues, such as the demarcation of the association, "said Haxholli.
Regarding the legal framework for pensions, Haxholli added that there have been significant improvements.
"Parliament has not been able to work for a few months, due to opposition blockade. But there have been improvements. Today pensions are bigger because of the work we have done. We moved rapidly to make changes” said the adviser of MLSW, Fatmir Haxholli.
This conclusion was challenged by the opposition deputy Shqipe Pantina. She said the opposition's job is to criticize while carrying out duties is obligatory of the opposition.
