The first report on financial support of NGO’s from the public institutions has been published

On March 14, 2017, the first report on the financial support of Civil Society Organizations in Kosovo from public institutions has been published. This report was compiled by the Office for Good Governance supported by the two-year EU-funded project "Support for the Implementation of Government Strategy for Cooperation with Civil Society," which aims to improve the Governments capacity to build effective cooperation with civil society in carrying out important economic and social reforms.

Executive Director of the Kosovar Stability Initiative (IKS), Florina Duli, who is also a member of the Council for the Implementation of Government Strategy for Cooperation with Civil Society, during the presentation of the report stressed that the publication of this report marks a step toward transparency, but still is missing more detailed information on what are the projects that have been implemented and the impact they have had. Mrs. Duli also stressed that not only has the analysis illuminated some extent of the current practices of financial support to NGOs, but it is also expected to help the planned reforms in the NGO contracting sector 's public service provision applied according to the best European standards, not leaving space for nepotism and corruption practices.
