The Kosovar Stability Initiative (IKS) is an independent, not-for-profit think tank focusing on empirical research and analysis of socio-economic development in Kosovo. IKS was created in 2004 in recognition of the pressing need for independent, in-depth analysis of important issues involved in promoting stability and prosperity in Kosovo. Its innovative and policy-relevant research aims at initiating debates on important issues for Kosovo’s future.
IKS offers interested companies who focus on market research, for the following tender:
‘Exploring models and good practices in determining minimum pay for full time work and identifying the best model for Kosovo’
This research is one of the activities implemented under the Support to Social Partners Project (SSP) implemented by a consortium of organization under the leadership of Kosovo Stability Initiative and managed by the European Union Office in Kosovo.
SSP intends to commission a competent company or consortium to undertake a comparative research study with the objective of contributing to the Socio Economic Council (SEC) KES proposal for setting the minimum wage in Kosovo. SSP will coordinate this effort, but the research company would be responsible for organizing and conducting research and providing thorough-going analysis and findings. SSP reserves the right to review and approve the methodology and all instruments, guides, and or administrative procedures as necessary to comply with IKS procedures.
Specific objectives of the research:
- Is minimum wage needed in Kosovo? (pros and cons in the Kosovo circumstances)
- What are best practices in determining minimum wage and what is the necessary minimum needed for survival in Kosovo?
- How should the revision of criteria on defining the minimum wage in the Republic of Kosovo.
- What would be the budget implications of the new proposed methodology for determining minimum wage?
