Good Governance

Last few years, with the support of the British Embassy in Kosovo, the Kosovar Stability Initiative has been developing capacity building activities in three Ministries of the Republic of Kosovo – the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (MLSW), the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MAFRD) – as well as in the development of new policies and legislation at the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo.

One of the results of this engagement was the adoption of the Concept Paper on Revitalization of Orchard, Harvest and Stables – New Opportunities in the Development of Horticulture and Livestock Branches in the Households for 2015 – 2017.

Another achievement was the drafting of the “Guidelines for the Policy Making and Legislation Process in the Government of the Republic of Kosovo”, carried out in cooperation with the Office of the Prime Minister and the cooperative partners. The purpose of this Guidebook was to enable experts, officials, and citizens involved in the process of drafting policies and drafting legislation, knowing best how to draft their rules and procedures; To assist Kosovar officials during the process of drafting, discussing and adopting legislation and policies and eliminating the practice of not conducting preliminary analyses when drafting legislative documentation.

 

From May 2015, with the support of the British Embassy, IKS further supports with technical expertise for the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare in amending the legislation on labor and employment, which is a complement to the engagement launched the project ” Supporting Social Partners “. Finally, IKS is supporting the Department of Registration and Liaison with NGOs in the process of developing a Concept Paper on Amendments to the Law on Freedom of Association in NGOs, as well as in the process of amending the Law on mentioned.
