Position: Research and Administrative Assistant

Kosovar Stability Initiative (IKS) is inviting applications for the position of Research and Administrative Assistant to join its institutional team.

The position is not linked to a specific project and will provide cross-cutting support to IKS’s research, policy, programme, advocacy, and administrative activities.

1. Organisational Background
The Kosovar Stability for Initiative (IKS) is a civil society organisation working to promote social justice, inclusive socio-economic development, labour rights, gender equality, social protection, and evidence-based public policy in Kosovo.

Through research, policy analysis, advocacy, public debate, and engagement with institutions and other stakeholders, IKS contributes to informed policymaking and stronger mechanisms for social dialogue and social accountability.

IKS works with public institutions, civil society organisations, social partners, development partners, experts, media, and citizens to generate evidence and support constructive dialogue on issues of public interest. Its work includes conducting quantitative and qualitative research, monitoring and analysing public policies and legislation, contributing to policy and legislative processes, supporting stakeholder consultations and working groups, and disseminating research findings to relevant audiences.

As part of its institutional work, IKS is seeking a motivated Research and Administrative Assistant who will contribute to the effective implementation of its research, programme, and organisational activities.

2. Purpose of the Position
The Research and Administrative Assistant will provide day-to-day support to IKS’s research, programme, policy, advocacy, and administrative activities.

The position combines research assistance, data and information management, preparation of documents and materials, coordination support, and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and IKS team and will contribute to the preparation and implementation of research, policy activities, stakeholder consultations, events, and other institutional activities.

The position is particularly suitable for a motivated early-career professional interested in research, public policy, social justice, labour and socio-economic issues, and the work of civil society organisations.

3. Scope and Responsibilities
The Research and Administrative Assistant will be responsible for:
i. Supporting the Research and Program Director, and IKS team in the implementation of institutional and programme activities;
ii. Providing research and analytical support, including desk research, data collection, literature reviews, and preparation of research materials;
iii. Supporting the preparation of research reports, policy briefs, presentations, meeting materials, summaries, and other institutional documents;
iv. Monitoring relevant developments in legislation, public policies, labour rights, social protection, socio-economic development, and other areas relevant to IKS’s work;
v. Supporting the organisation and implementation of meetings, consultations, workshops, conferences, and other IKS activities;
vi. Preparing and maintaining administrative, research, and programme documentation and records;
vii. Supporting communication and coordination with partners, public institutions, experts, participants, and other stakeholders;
viii. Assisting with scheduling, correspondence, filing, logistics, and other day-to-day administrative tasks;
ix. Supporting the preparation of activity reports, monitoring documents, databases, and other materials as required;
x. Supporting the collection, organisation, and presentation of quantitative and qualitative information;
xi. Contributing to the preparation and follow-up of stakeholder meetings, working groups, and consultations;
xii. Undertaking other research, programme, and administrative tasks relevant to the position as assigned by the Executive Director.

4. Skills and Qualifications
The candidate should meet the following requirements:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Business Administration, Public Policy, Law, Political Science, Sociology, or another relevant field;
• Excellent command of English is mandatory, both written and spoken;
• Good command of Albanian, both written and spoken;
• Previous experience in research, administration, programme/project support, civil society, public policy, or a related field is an advantage;
• Strong research, analytical, organisational, and writing skills;
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team;
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work with a high degree of responsibility and self-discipline;
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organise and present information clearly;
• Knowledge of labour-related legislation and public policy issues in Kosovo is considered an advantage;
• Ability to work independently and take initiative when required;
• Commitment to the values of social justice, equality, inclusion, and evidence-based policymaking;

5. Reporting Arrangements
The Research and Administrative Assistant will report directly to the Executive Director of IKS and will work closely with the IKS research and programme team.

6. Duration and Remuneration
The position is offered for an initial period of one (1) year, with the possibility of extension based on performance, organisational needs, and availability of resources.

The remuneration will be determined in accordance with applicable legislation and IKS’s internal policies, taking into consideration the relevant market conditions and applicable statutory minimum requirements.
